The Biafran cause may be seen by the Biafrans as the best and most just course to pursue, but that is not what I see. Instead, I see a bad dream or maybe a nightmare from which every true Igbo must wake up from. Here are the reasons why I think so.

TO THOSE WHO SEE ONLY WRONG IN BIAFRA

I wish this post can be longer than I intended but I will go straight to point. Biafra and the struggles of the Igbo in Nigeria have been one of pain, blood, guns and bombs. Our blood has been shed more than any ethnic group in Nigeria and facts and death figures are available to prove this.

Why all these?

We are seen as preponderant in nature, we seem to do well in strange lands, we enter a territory and be the master of it, we survive, we thrive, we are good at what we set out to do. In these, Nigeria keeps relegating us, we have our markets set ablaze, we have military lay siege in our land, men killed and women slaughtered. This is not new.

It is even more shocking for people in a different clime of things, in other ethnic groups, in their comfort zones, in their homes, houses and safe places to think that the Biafran ideology is all about hate, relevance and cheap publicity. Nothing can be farther from the truth.

The situation of violence in Nigeria can happen anywhere in the world, to any ethnic nation or race and for some people to think they are safe while turning a blind eye is simply inhumane and wicked. Why are people tacitly approving brutality when it can happen to any one of them one day?

Before you feel safe in this confirmed Zoo called Nigeria, let me drop the same word I shared when the Aluu4 boys were killed, ” It could have been anyone”.

The situation in Umuahia, Abia State can happen in any part of the world including your safe haven.
